I haven't posted here in so long. I've been busy, busy busy. Very yes. I guess I haven't been updating here because Im tired of repeating myself during every update. Yes, I am still working on Adora, yes, I'm doing more Dr. Scoops comix, yes, I'm still going through college crap. I can say things are looking up. Man, I can't wait to see Zach and everyone else again. <3 And yes, I am still pretty swamped to do much art of my own.

I have been tackling things on my to draw list these past few days and in record time to boot. Mostly promised gifts/late bday gifts for friends, its helping me develop my inkwork, character designs and posing techniques.....and I'm doing them because I feel bad for not being around lol. I had a blast and I miss all my friends dearly.  Dekay, Lily and Gazelle you guys rock! Man, I wish you lived near me! I need to know more cool girls like you! I can totally picture us hanging out on a daily basis. Man you guys were awesome.

MMMK....howdy.

Hows it hangin'?

Just wanted to say  I think this is probably my last "real" day on my computer since I need to get packed up and situated for my con trip, it may start on Thursday but I'm going to be DRIVING there and it takes about 16 hours to get there by car. Oh, how I love these drives, 16 hours does sound like a looong and boring drive but I can say otherwise. We do a lot of amazing stuff on the way, all I can say is: Lightening, shooting stars, car games, movies, drawing, ipod, road waffles, drive thrus, playing DJ annnnnnnnnnd we pass through Las Vegas. Hell yeah.  The only thing is its just be me and 2 family members, usually we have friends or something come along for the ride but nope, Tara is goin solo in the back seat. Oh well. I get the whole back of a van! Oh, the possibilities.

I still need to get a lot done by Monday but I will pop in a few times to check in and see whats up with friends I'm picking up once Im in SD.

I've also took the dekay's advice and  do whatever with the gifties so I'll just scan my gifties now and work on them when I get back. I've done 3 and a half but I have 8 in all so I think I'm doing those on the drive. Blegh.

I got my signing schedule from SLG the other day but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be there for all of them since I'm just advertising so I'll post them up once I know for sure.

Anyway, I saw the Dark Knight today at an IMAX theater with Casey and Keegan ( who I haven't hung out with in months ) and boy was that movie incredible! Heath was brilliant and I quite enjoyed it. Yes yes. We also went to the mall and the arcade and I totally kicked ass at the claw machine. I won a little aipom pokeyman lol

Hey.

I haven't updated here in ages, so here goes....

Been out hanging and living it up. Since I have this break I've been focusing on getting out and having fun.  My childhood friend Rob from California came over yesterday to visit. I haven't seen him since like...10 years ago. Jesus.

We had a ton of fun and even though we haven't seen each other in so long we had a lot in common and seemed to hit it off. He left last night and it was so sad, I was almost  on the verge of crying. Almost. Now I know how its going to be when I say goodbye to all my friends at the con. guuuh but yeah,  I'm going to miss him.

Now, I think I'm going to draw all the people I'm meeting at the comic con a little somethin somethin. I got all their past line work ready to go. They deserve it and I've started on a few. Hopefully, I can whip up a bundle to take with me but If I don't finish, I can always work while I'm on my road trip or at the con itself.

I haven't asked myself  "Do I want to scan these, give em out at the con and color and post them when I get back?" or "Should I finish them all and post them up before I go and give em the lineart once I'm there?" What do you think my loyal chums? I'm talkin to you! *points to my homies goin wiff me*

Man, my life sure is boring. Not much going on other than hanging out and taking a break from projects. I still have a lot to do but meeeh! I dunn feel like it. I work too much. I'll get to it soon. Don't really feel like going into detail on any of my hangouts either, just know they were good times.
Hmm lets see..I dyed my hair *Its so red*,  I've been making cookies, listening to love songs, C: been swimming/tanning, been staying up at really late hours and drawing  my own work here and there.

Ok, today I woke up to a text from my friend Salty, who I haven't heard from in awhile so I was really excited to see what hes been doing these past couple months. Then he says he had bad news....great.

He texts "Hey Tara, sorry I have to tell you this but ......Eric died." I was in horrible shock and had no words for a good solid hour.

Eric was a great friend of mine who I've known since the beginning of high school. I used to sit with him and *soon to be his future wife* all the time in art class. He loved anime, video games, art and manga. He was shy but really awesome, I always loved hanging out with him. He would always compliment me on my art, say Im awesome and leave me Myspace messages saying the same ting. haha

I visited his myspace and Im still his number 1 and I'm listed as one of his heroes.....shit. He always encouraged me and he was one of the few who believed in me. sigh.

Salty stated that "Jenn *his wife* walked in the door and saw him on the floor of the hallway on Thursday, June 12th 2008. He suffered from heart failure." Its really really sad, he was 21  and married Jenn at 18. It was shocking when they married at that age but I'm glad they did because they had time to cherish their love and they probably wouldnt have experienced what they have if they didn't. Jenn isn't doing so well....poor thing.

 I'll be attending his funeral on Wednesday, its my first funeral I've ever been to for a really close friend...it will be an experience.  It makes me ponder about my own life and what I need to do and accomplish before I pass, life can be taken without warning. Its really scary. Hopefully, I can do what I need to do on this Earth.

So Ive been in a black and white, old timey, two tone classic  era type of funk. I'm in love with it. I kinda grew up with certain things because of my mom. So it feels like I've already lived through this once. So with all the old time inspiration,I thought I'd show ya what a sketch page of mine looks when inspired with this era.

I do this exercise where I'll draw something from scratch in a different style and then redraw it again but in my own style. It helps me learn from other styles and lets my style branch out and go a bit further.


Then I thought....I never see two toned Classic monsters in shorts! I wonder what they'd look like if they were black and whites. It was harder than it looks XD

Since my friend Ricky who works on "El Tigre" has a two toned 1930 based comic coming out Id thought I'd draw em too since I was in the funk.
Kimbo is an adorable little devil.


Ever since I was young I had a fascination with "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit" the FIRST mascot for Disney before that MOUSE came along. Where Oswald was left in the vault for centuries. They just barely made a DVD of the never been aired Oswald shorts! I need it! Only 20,000 were made. Muuuuh

I always felt he got jipped but I love him more than Mickey.
Another great obsession I had i think in 6th grade during my "Film Class" was the great Charlie Chaplin. I remember my Film teacher dressing up as em for Halloween. So Awesome. My uncle who also loves em lent me a box set with some of his shorts and movies and HOT DAMN that guy is a genius!

So yeah, hope these will keep ya content till I have the time to actually upload something on deviantart.

So, I woke up to another package tossed in my face by my mom today. I was half asleep but knowing I had a package in the mail woke me up in a flash. It was a surprise gift from Zach B.  As you all know I love getting things in the mail so I just had to talk about it......and because I haven't wrote a journal since the beginning of April and wanted to bump the old one. I was surprised to see such awesome originals in there along with inkwork from trades,  comments and gifts. It really made my day and inspired me. Artwork is the greatest gift to give in my eyes. ^^ I've hung the pic not featured here on my wall next to Emma's =D I will send you something when I can. Same goes for DJ's gift X< I just need to make time to get that sent and done with. haha  Anyway, You should be getting a new post from me about another comic project not Adora based. I will update this coming weekend if it releases or not. Theres actually a couple characters featured here in these sketches who will be in the upcoming project 83 I have to draw a Zombie Sloth now.

I haven't drawn ANYTHING not related to Adora in soooooo long. I have so many ideas for new work and characters, things from the past I've been wanting to get around to and I want to try new color techniques. Since the book has been taking most/all of my art based time I just have to waaaaaait till things die down . Which probably won't at this point. I know once the con comes I'm going to be striving away, putting all my imagination/creativity in nothing BUT these pages. *pout*

Sooooooo, I feel bad about my absence and all, heres some slightly old sketches from my sketchyboooook. NOTE: My sketch work is really light since I dont put too much time nor did I have time to do these in the first place, so sorry if you can't see them. lol

So whats up? I've been pretty slammed. Got some clipart to do and I'm still getting the site together but its coming out pretty well, should be up fairly soon.  So close to getting done with designs! Once those are done the pages should go by a lot quicker. Nothing really going on with me other than the book, commission pay has come in and I still got to do 3 bday pics, I'll get to those as soon as i can.
Skids mouse head I did for fun. It was on that Wii skin i did awhile ago but I like it. I can see it on a shirt. I dont know. Anyway! I gotta get back to work!

So, I'm feeling a little better after those last couple days. Just a little better. Dunno if Im ready to start getting online and talking. I woke up this morning with two packages on my pillow. C: One from my College telling me how much the school/government is going to pay. I just hope the scholarships will pay for the rest. Either way, big numbers. The other was a package from my friend who composes the music for El Tigre. He was nice enough to send me the soundtrack ^___^ Its so awesome. The music is so dramatic and pretty without the SFX and voices.

In Adoras case, Ive done a page and Im working on a double one now. I finished up some color clipart for the site and I sent out all the emails to the people doing pinups. Two who already accepted. ^____^ So happy. I'm not going to say who because I want it to be a surprise.
So thats a relief.

Things involving me, well..I have this book thats keeping me busy/swamped, commissions are pouring in and I know thats going to take some time to get to, I've been working on all my college stuff, I have tons of B-day pics I need to get to for friends. X< I just can not wait for the summer so all of this will be done and over with. Plus, to top it off its like 29 degree's here. I'm beginning to miss my home in California XD Like ALOT.

Can't wait to hit the beach and wear my winged "Halloween" bathing suit! Or just for the weather to get warmer so I can go outside without a coat. *puts fluffy hoodie over head* >8[
